Hats by Spoon
Spoon Popkin is perhaps best known
as painter, although she is also a talented
seamstress, designer, and performer. Minás carries her whimsical hats
in bright
colors and animal prints ($18).
Hand-painted Miniatures by Carole Jean Bertsch
Carole Jean Bertsch is a critically acclaimed painter,
photographer and jewelry
designer. Her small paintings of people and animals are brightly colored, mysterious,
and cheerfully surreal ($30).
Little Creatures by Jodi
Artist Jodi Hoover makes painting in all sizes but
her tiny paintings on are small on
purpose. She supports a program called Art-o-mat, which turns old cigarette machines
into art vending machines. Each little creature ($25) is an original painting
on wood and is
about the same size as a pack of cigarettes. (www.jodihoover.com)
Minás’ Cards and Prints
Boutique owner and painter Minás
reproduces his artwork as full-color greeting
cards ($2) and
archival-quality framed prints ($9).
Earrings by Sherri
Jewelry designer Sherri Filemyr creates funky, colorful earrings
featuring celebrity
mug shots (Peewee Herman, Elvis), vintage
comics, and B-movie posters ($15).
Like Sherri, these earrings are hip, edgy, and fun.
Hand-made Jewelry by Malia
Beautiful beaded necklaces and earrings
by designer Malia Furukawa ($9 - $24).
Malia’s Japanese heritage
is reflected in her designs, which are simple, balanced,
and harmonious.
Hand-Screened Tee Shirts by Beppi
Perhaps best known for her underground
comics, Beppi is also a talented designer
and fine artist. Beppi’s
silk-screened teeshirts ($15 - $17) are cute and edgy at the
same
time. Screens include Nancy Drew, Little Red Riding Hood, the creepy
twins
from The Shining, and George Bush: Monsters Look Like Us.

Sculptures by Mark “Wireman” Coburn
Mark “Wireman” Coburn is
an engineer by day and poet, musician and sculptor by
night. His wire sculptures are like his
music and poetry: lyrical and free-flowing, yet
cohesive. His pieces
represent mythical and familiar figures (mermaids, Frank Zappa)
Each black wire sculpture is approximately 10” and ready
for hanging ($125 - $150).
